“Cozinheiro” (in Portuguese) means “chef”. O’Cozinheiro is a beautiful restaurant tucked away in a little corner of Caranzalem, overlooking green fields. The surroundings are away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. It promises a quiet meal in the midst of a homely atmosphere. To stress on the Goan feel O’Cozinheiro was actually an old, typical Goan house converted to a restaurant but keeping the rustic feel to it. It fills one with a warm and welcoming sense. It truly is an experience not to be missed. The terracotta decorations and paintings add to the feel of the place. The staff is polite and helpful. If you want to sample the joys of Goan cuisine; this is the restaurant to go to. There is a variety of Goan and Seafood to choose from ranging from Fish Balchao to Pigling Cabidel (one rarely comes across this at a restaurant), the infamous Chicken Cafreal, Fried mussels are a few of the things that can be relished . Everything is very reasonably priced and very affordable. This is the closest one can get to a home cooked Goan meal.
